FAQ
General
subZwallet is a Shopify app that combines subscription management, cashback wallets, loyalty points, customer tiers, milestone rewards, and automation (Flows) in one place. It replaces the need for separate subscription and loyalty apps by handling plans, billing, retention, and upsell from a single dashboard.
From Shopify admin go to **Apps** → **subZwallet**. The first screen is Home, which shows key metrics and quick actions. Use the sidebar to reach Manage Subscriptions, Subscription Plans, Analytics, Rewards, Flows, and App Settings.
The app works with any Shopify theme that supports app blocks (Online Store 2.0 and newer). The subscription widget loads asynchronously and stays under 15 KB, so there is no measurable impact on page speed.
Plans & Billing
Four plans are available: **Free** (up to 25 subscriptions, then $0.10 each), **Launch** ($79/mo + 0.5%), **Growth** ($149/mo + 0.35%), and **Scale** ($249/mo + 0.25%). Launch adds unlimited subscriptions, analytics, and milestone rewards. Growth adds cashback, points, tiers, Flows, and upsell. Scale adds priority support and lower fees.
All paid plans include a **14-day free trial** — no credit card required. Cancel before day 15 and you are downgraded to Free with no charge. Plan changes take effect immediately; switching during a trial does not reset the trial period.
The transaction fee is a percentage of each subscription order processed through subZwallet. It appears on your Shopify invoice alongside the monthly plan fee. Change your plan or review billing under **App Settings → Billing & Plan**.
Subscriptions
Create a plan under **Subscription Plans → Create plan**. Set delivery frequency, discount, and products — the plan appears in the widget at checkout automatically. To pause, skip, or cancel a contract, open **Manage Subscriptions**, select the contract, and choose the action. Bulk actions are supported.
Customers can manage their own subscriptions through the customer portal: pause, resume, skip, swap products, and update payment methods. You control which self-service actions are available from App Settings.
Dunning
Dunning is the automated retry process for failed subscription charges. Configure the number of retries, the interval between attempts, and the final action (skip, pause, or cancel) under **App Settings → Dunning Settings**. Payment-failure email templates are editable from **Email Templates** in the sidebar.
Rewards
**Milestone rewards** trigger automatically when a subscriber reaches a specific order number (3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.). Reward types include percentage discount, fixed discount, free shipping, and free product. Available on Launch, Growth, and Scale.
Feature visibility depends on your plan. Milestone rewards require Launch or above. Cashback, Points, Tiers, Flows, and Upsell require Growth or Scale. Upgrade from **App Settings → Billing & Plan**.
Cashback
The cashback wallet gives customers store credit automatically based on rules you define — a percentage of every subscription order, a flat amount on the first order, or conditional rules with limits. Cashback uses Shopify's native store credit, so balances appear in the standard customer record and can be redeemed at any checkout.
Points & Tiers
Loyalty **points** are a separate currency from cashback. You define earn rates, redemption thresholds, and optional expiration windows. Both systems can run at the same time on Growth and Scale.
**Customer tiers** (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold) segment subscribers by total orders or spend. Each tier can unlock different rewards, cashback rates, or Flow actions. Set tiers up from the **Customer Tiers** section in the sidebar.
Migration
Moving from Recharge? Follow the **Migration Playbook: Recharge to subZwallet**. The recommended approach is a phased rollout: define scope and success metrics, migrate a pilot cohort, QA renewal and portal behavior, then expand. Most teams finish in two to four weeks.
The two most common failure modes are rushed full-cutovers and unclear ownership. Start with a single migration owner, a parity matrix, and support playbooks ready before cutover day.
Widget Customization
The subscription widget is an app block. Open the Shopify theme editor, find the subZwallet block in the product section, and drag it where you want. Choose from eight built-in styles, adjust colors, toggle savings badges, and add policy text. Every change previews live before saving.
Integrations
subZwallet connects to **Klaviyo** for email flows built around loyalty data (tier, points, wallet balance) and to **Gorgias** so support agents see subscription and reward context in every ticket. Custom integrations and API access are available on Scale, with more connectors on the roadmap.
Support
All users can reach out through the **Contact** or **Get in touch** link on the subZwallet website. Scale plan customers receive priority support with faster response times. For common setup questions, start with the help articles linked in the app sidebar.
